Mireles Helps Generals Defeat Blue Wahoos, 8-3
|
Tony Mireles was a major factor in the 8-3 Jackson win over Pensacola. The Generals catcher was 4 for 4 with a home run, a double, and 2 singles, while adding 6 RBI and scoring once. Joe Hill, the winner, improved to 2-4. He held the Blue Wahoos to 3 runs on 6 hits over 6 innings, while striking out 8 and walking 2. Yes, it was a win for Jackson; but their 11-22 record is still nothing to boast about.
Raul Rodriguez, who is rated as the 14th best prospect by BNN, helped out the Jackson cause in the bottom of the fourth inning with a run-scoring ground out. For the game, the center fielder drew 2 walks.
Mireles called the win the result of "everyone being in sync."
