Generals Take Tight Tangle
Biloxi wasted an exceptional performance by pitcher Jesus Valdez, falling to the Jackson Generals, 4-3. Valdez threw 7.0 innings of 6-hit ball for the losing team. Jorge Reyes came out of the bullpen to earn the win. The right-hander allowed no runs on 1 hit in 2 innings. His record now stands at 4-4. With the win, Jackson upped its record to 22-16.

The defining moment came in the bottom of the ninth for Jackson. That's when Justin Portillo hit a run-scoring double off 25-year old right-handed pitcher Ryan White to win the game. The home crowd went wild.

"The effort we put into this one paid off," Portillo said.
