Montgomery second baseman Ray Pace was sensational. He went 2-4 with a home run and a walk, while adding 5 RBI and scoring once. But it wasn't enough to rally his team to a win. Birmingham beat the Biscuits, 7-5. The win elevated the Barons to 19-19.

In the bottom of the seventh, Birmingham first baseman Alex Reyes had a productive at-bat. With runners on 2nd and 3rd and one out, Reyes stroked a 2-run single to left. It made the score 7-2, Birmingham. For the game, he went 1 for 1. He drove in 2 runs.

"We'll just keep our nose to the grindstone," Reyes told the Birmingham Bulletin.
