Shuckers Fall Short, 2-1, at Montgomery
|
The Montgomery Biscuits claimed a close win over the Biloxi Shuckers, due in large part to Jimmy Thompson. The Montgomery right-hander pitched a great game to secure the 2-1 win. The winner was Thompson. He threw 6.0 innings allowing 1 run. The loser was Jon Espinoza. John Campbell wrapped it up, recording his 5th save.
Brad Duncan, who was drafted in the 3rd round of the 2107 draft, took Biloxi hurler Jon Espinoza deep in the bottom of the fourth. His solo home run put the Biscuits on top, 2-1. In all, Duncan had 1 single in addition to the home run, while going 2 for 3.
"This is a great group to be a part of, and it's a big win for us," Duncan told the Montgomery News.
The Biscuits have an impressive 27-17 record.
