Mississippi Makes It 6 Straight with 2-1 Win
|
Jackson pitcher Egbert Nicolai gave the Braves all they could handle, but in the end, Mississippi left Trustmark Park with a win, 2-1. Nicolai allowed 1 run on 1 hit over 7 innings. Getting the save was Kevin Carlton, his 9th. Jackson has now lost 5 in a row.
Mississippi took a 2-0 lead on Aaron Higgs's 1st double of the season. The 2-run double, which Higgs hit in the bottom of the eighth, left Jackson pitcher Nate Sharp visibly frustrated.
"I made some pitches when I had to," said Higgs.
