Jackson Drops Tennessee, 4-0
|
Jackson picked up a win at Smokies Park, toppling the Tennessee Smokies, 4-0. Pitcher Miguel Flores was one of the reasons the Generals triumphed. Flores, the winner, moves to 3-2. He threw 6 innings of 4-hit ball, while fanning 8 and giving up 1 walk. The 4th-place Generals improved to 18-27.
Jackson used a well-timed hit by Antonio Carpio to capture the win. The center fielder socked a 2-run double in the top of the third inning to put the Generals ahead, 2-0. Though it was his only hit in 3 at-bats, it was important.
"I'm just trying to make good contact," said Carpio, "one at-bat at a time."
