Phillies Fall to Chio and Yankees, 2-0
|
The skies opened up and the rain fell at Citizens Bank Park.
In a low-scoring contest, New York pitcher Yu-eh Chio was marvelous, enabling his team to nab a 2-0 win. Zach Rogers earned his 2nd save, after closing out the game.
Chio, who dominated for New York, earned the victory to move to 1-0. He was in control the whole game, scattering 4 hits over 8 innings, while striking out 6. Philadelphia batters could never bunch up enough hits to produce a rally.
"Yu-eh pitched like a champ," said New York manager Mike Hanson.
New York is now 2-0.
