The Barons grabbed a win, 4-3, at Regions Field, overcoming a fine effort from Mobile pitcher Carlos Fargas. Fargas went 7 innings and allowed 1 run. Birmingham reliever Dwayne Redmond picked up the win to move to 2-0. Danny Cruz suffered the loss. Tony Ponce De Leon was credited with the save for Birmingham, his 10th of the season.

Birmingham took a 4-3 lead on Bronson Gray's 3rd double of the season. The 2-run double, which Gray hit in the bottom of the eighth, left Mobile pitcher Danny Cruz visibly frustrated.

"From the last whatever, five, six, seven games, there's really only one way to go and that's up," said losing manager Corey Olsen.

The losing streak for Mobile has now reached 6 games.
