Red-Hot Blue Wahoos Win Again
|
Starting pitcher Brian Scalfaro gave the Pensacola Blue Wahoos a rock-solid performance, helping his team defeat the Biloxi Shuckers, 3-1, at Five County Stadium. Bill Penn earned the save for Pensacola, his 1st of the year. The Blue Wahoos have an impressive 35-19 record.
The Blue Wahoos got a big at-bat from first baseman Antonio Gerardo. For the game, Gerardo went 3-3 with a double, 2 singles, and a walk. In the bottom of the third, with a runner on 1st, he stroked a run-scoring double. His 20th double of the season gave Pensacola a 1-0 lead.
"Slowly but surely, the wins are piling up," said Gerardo.
