The Pensacola Blue Wahoos topped the Biloxi Shuckers, 8-1, in Southern League action at Five County Stadium. The game was highlighted by the performance of Pensacola pitcher R.J. Thompson Jr.. With the win, Pensacola pushed its record to 34-24.

It was an impressive outing from the soft-spoken Thompson Jr., who tallied 10 strikeouts in 9 innings and allowed only 5 hits. Thompson Jr. raised his record to 1-0 on the year with 29 strikeouts.

"I give credit to my teammates for this win. We got it done," Thompson Jr. told the Pensacola Daily.
