Edwards Leads Biloxi to 1-0 Win
|
It might have been a rain-shorted game, but the hometown crowd didn't seem to mind.
The Biloxi Shuckers defeated the Tennessee Smokies, 1-0, in Southern League action at MGM Park. Biloxi pitcher Justin Edwards had a standout performance. The Shuckers win now puts them at 30-28.
The famously hardworking Edwards handled the Smokies all day, notching 9 strikeouts in 6.1 innings while allowing 1 hit. Edwards, who is tied for 7th in the SL in strikeouts with 77, goes to 4-5 on the year with 77 strikeouts.
"Hustle and hard work is a big part of our success," said Edwards. "Those qualities define our team."
