The 6-4 Pensacola win over Jackson was due largely to Joseph Thomson. The Blue Wahoos third baseman went 3 for 4 with a home run, a triple, and a double, while scoring 2 and driving in 2. Andy Bertrand earned the win after being brought in from the bullpen. The right-hander allowed no runs on 1 hit in 2.2 innings. His record is now 2-1. Pensacola now sports a record of 41-21.

Had Ivan Silva not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the seventh, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and runners on 2nd and 3rd, Silva hit a 2-run single. That made the score 5-4, in favor of the Blue Wahoos.

"I'm just looking for a good pitch that I can hit well," said Thomson. "And not try to do too much."
