Despite a fine performance by center fielder Ben DePue, the Birmingham Barons lost to the Montgomery Biscuits, 7-6, in 10 innings. DePue went 3 for 5 with a triple, 2 singles, and a walk. He scored 2 runs. With the win, the Biscuits sit at 34-29.

It could have been a different outcome for Montgomery, had it not been for Jared Lightfoot, the 25-year old first baseman . Lightfoot contributed a run-scoring single in the top of the tenth inning to put Montgomery up, 7-6.

"This kind of game is tough on the heart," said winning manager George Woolbright.
