The Biloxi Shuckers rode a solid performance from 30-year-old starting pitcher Jamar Smith to a win, beating the Pensacola Blue Wahoos, 4-2, at Five County Stadium. At 44-23, the Shuckers claim first place in the North Division.

Vic Sanchez, who is tied for 2nd in the SL in stolen bases with 28, had a direct impact on the outcome. Sanchez contributed a run-scoring single in the top of the ninth inning to put Biloxi up, 3-2.

"I like the roll we're on," said Biloxi manager Ethan Isler.
