Suns Top Blue Wahoos to Even Record
|
The Jacksonville Suns picked up a win at Baseball Grounds of Jacksonville, courtesy of Victor Huet. The right-hander helped his team stop the Pensacola Blue Wahoos, 3-1. In 7.1 innings, Huet surrendered 5 hits, while striking out 6 and walking 2. He allowed 1 run. Alfonso Delgado was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 7 of 9 save opportunities.
The Suns got a big at-bat from left fielder Edwin Carreon. For the game, Carreon went 1-4 with a double. He drove in 2 runs. In the bottom of the first, with runners on 1st and 3rd, he stroked a 2-run double. His 9th double of the season gave Jacksonville a 2-0 lead.
"The only difference is executing pitches and not executing pitches," said Huet. "When you don't execute, you get beat. When you execute, you usually give your team a chance to win."
After today's action, Jacksonville sits at 34-34; Pensacola slips to 37-31.
