Baseball Grounds of Jacksonville was the site for Southern League action featuring the Tennessee Smokies and Jacksonville Suns.
Jacksonville Suns starter Jerry Ramos was in a rhythm all game. He led his team to a win over the Tennessee Smokies, 8-2. Ramos got the win, improving to 6-2. He gave up 7 hits and walked 2 over 6.2 innings. He allowed 2 runs. Pedro Ramos nailed down his 3rd save.
Travis Brandolino, who is tied for 5th in the SL in doubles with 17, helped out the Jacksonville cause in the bottom of the fifth inning with a run-scoring walk. For the game, the catcher drew 2 walks.
"Very pleased with the effort on our side," said Brandolino.
With the win, the Suns have a record of 36-32.
