Lookouts Lose Late, 10-8
|
In a high-scoring game between Jackson and Chattanooga, catcher Craig Ballinger was a difference-maker. The 28-year-old helped Jackson grab the 10-8 win. He was 3-5 with a home run and 2 singles. He drove in 4 runs and scored once. Dave Zimmerman, now 1-1, was credited with the win. He allowed no runs on 1 hit, while striking out 5 and walking 1. Shane Mattila nailed down his 2nd save.
The critical at-bat for Jackson came in the top of the 12th inning. With one out, Nate Sheehy hit a 2-run single, putting Jackson up, 10-8.
Generals manager Mark Allen wasn't all too pleased, despite the win, telling reporters that the performance highlighted some clear areas for improvement moving forward. He refused to be more specific, however. "I'm not gonna publicize our weaknesses," he said. "That stuff stays in the clubhouse."
Jackson is now 27-42.
