Biloxi Shuckers pitcher Jason Havens was in fine form, leading his team past the Chattanooga Lookouts, 2-1. The winner in relief was Mike Kretchmar. The left-hander allowed no runs on no hits in 2 innings. He now owns a record of 5-3. With the win, Biloxi goes to 48-32, while the Lookouts fall to 45-35.
Billy Weil was the walk-off hero for Biloxi. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Shuckers pinch hitter hit a dramatic solo home run to send the teams home.
In postgame comments to the Biloxi Chronicle, Weil said, "If the effort is there, the wins will come."
