Mobile pitcher Juan Fierros did his part in helping his team defeat the Montgomery Biscuits, 10-0. The opposition could never get too much going against the right-hander. The triumph puts Mobile at 42-38 for the season.

Mobile used the stroke of Steve Moore to get the win. The right fielder hammered a grand slam home run in the top of the third inning to put the BayBears ahead, 6-0. It was his lone hit in 5 at-bats, but it did its damage.

"You can't sugarcoat this one," said Montgomery manager George Woolbright. "They pounded us."
