Suns Curb Biscuits, 4-1
|
Jacksonville Suns pitcher Nick Hof was in fine form, leading his team past the Montgomery Biscuits, 4-1. The winning pitcher was Hof, now 10-6. He tossed 7.1 innings of 4-hit ball, while walking 2 and fanning 4. Jon Fenton recorded the save for Jacksonville, his 10th of the season.
It could have been a different outcome for Jacksonville, had it not been for Marc Martin, the 28-year old center fielder . Martin contributed a run-scoring single in the top of the eighth inning to put Jacksonville up, 3-1.
"Good win for us," said Hof. "Now we'll focus on the next one."
The Suns sit in 4th place in the South Division with a record of 36-49.
