Montgomery Grabs 7-5 Road Win
|
The Montgomery Biscuits knocked off the Biloxi Shuckers, 7-5, in Southern League action at MGM Park. Montgomery pitcher and Lawrence, Kansas, native Kyle Currence had an outstanding performance. Currence yielded 5 runs over 6.2 innings to notch the win. He scattered 7 hits, walked 1, and struck out 8. His record improves to 4-9. Ken Brusky recorded the save for Montgomery, his 6th of the season.
It could have been a different outcome for Montgomery, had it not been for Mike Nunez, the 23-year old left fielder . Nunez contributed a run-scoring sacrifice fly in the top of the first inning to put Montgomery up, 1-0.
"Kyle pitches well when he gets lathered up," said Montgomery manager George Woolbright.
Montgomery now sits at 26-60, while Biloxi falls to 46-40.
