The Ballpark at Jackson was the site of a tense game between the Pensacola Blue Wahoos and Jackson Generals.
The Jackson Generals earned a win at The Ballpark at Jackson, knocking off the Pensacola Blue Wahoos, 3-2. On the bump for Jackson was right-hander Mel Valdez. He had a starring role in the triumph. Josh Gordon recorded his 10th save for Jackson.
Chris Winn helped out the Jackson cause in the bottom of the sixth inning with a run-scoring sacrifice fly. For the game, the shortstop was 1 for 2.
"I just love going out and having a big game," Valdez said. "The limelight's never bothered me."
Jackson, now 40-53, holds down last place in the North Division.
