Barons Win Squeaker, 4-3, Over Shuckers
|
The Barons earned a hard-fought, 4-3 win in 11 innings at Regions Field. To do so required withstanding a fine effort from Biloxi pitcher John Nelson. Nelson went 6 innings and allowed 2 runs. At 67-31, the Barons are currently first in the South Division.
The Barons got a clutch hit from first baseman Sean Weisman. In the bottom of the 11th, he hit a run-scoring single to right, to win the game for the Barons.
"The ending was a real humdinger," Weisman told reporters after the game.
