Barons Bump Off Lookouts, 5-3
|
Chattanooga first baseman Bobby Jones had a good game, even if his team did not. The Lookouts dropped a 5-3 decision to Birmingham at AT&T Field. Jones went 3 for 4 with a home run and 2 singles, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. Jeremy Meduna locked down his 2nd save. Birmingham is first in the South Division with a record of 67-33.
Ed Pride, the 24-year old third baseman , had a direct impact on the outcome. Pride contributed a run-scoring sacrifice fly in the top of the seventh inning to put Birmingham up, 4-3.
Pride attributed the win to "energy and focus on the part of everyone."
