Lookouts Squelch Barons Offense in Shutout Win
|
Chattanooga and Birmingham got after it at AT&T Field.
Pitcher Alan Weirauch was sensational for the Chattanooga Lookouts in his team's 4-0 triumph over the Birmingham Barons. Weirauch picked up the win, and it was well-earned. In 6.2 innings, Weirauch surrendered 4 hits, while striking out 9 and walking 3. He allowed no runs.
The Lookouts got a big at-bat from catcher Jon Felch. For the game, Felch was 1 for 3 with a triple, while adding 2 RBI. In the bottom of the second, with runners on 1st and 3rd, he stroked a 2-run triple. His 2nd triple of the season gave Chattanooga a 2-0 lead.
"We'll take some time to unwind," said Felch, "and then get after it again."
The third-place Lookouts go to 58-44.
