Biscuits Pull Out Late Win, 7-6
|
Jackson got a terrific game from right fielder Joel Maxwell. It wasn't enough, though, to prevent the team from falling to Montgomery, 7-6, in 10 innings. Maxwell was 3-5 with 2 home runs. He drove in 4 runs and scored twice. Robby Pieklo, credited with the win in relief, is now 5-2. He allowed 1 run on 2 hits in 1.1 innings. With the victory, the Biscuits upped their record to 62-41.
It could have been a different outcome for Montgomery, had it not been for Chris McKenna, the 24-year old shortstop . McKenna contributed a run-scoring walk in the top of the tenth inning to put Montgomery up, 6-5.
"We refused to lose," said winning manager George Woolbright.
