Birmingham pitcher Dane Wein did his part in helping his team beat the Chattanooga Lookouts, 3-1. The left-hander kept opposing batters in check throughout the game. Birmingham, at 69-35, occupies first place in the South Division.

An impactful at-bat came in the top of the second inning. With a runner on 2nd, the batter, Travis Adams, reached on an error by the SS, driving in 1 run. It made the score 1-0, Birmingham, and helped them go on to win.

"Coulda, shoulda, woulda," said Chattanooga manager Fernando Gomez. "We had our chances and didn't cash in."
