BayBears Cut Down Suns, 3-1
|
The Mobile BayBears went home winners at Hank Aaron Stadium, thanks in large part to starter Ricky Muro. Muro stifled the Jacksonville Suns, enabling Mobile to grab the 3-1 win. The BayBears raised their record to 50-55.
Endy De Jesus Maida had a big 2-run home run for the BayBears in the bottom of the sixth inning. With Mobile trailing 1-0 and a runner on 2nd, he sized up a sinker from Tyler Stegman, who was drafted in the 3rd round of the 2104 draft, and punished it. The result was his 4th home run of the season, which put the BayBears on top, 2-1.
"Makes our job easier," said Maida, "when our pitchers shut the opposition down."
