The umbrellas came out during the Montgomery-Mobile contest at Montgomery Riverwalk Stadium.
The Montgomery Biscuits rode a solid performance from 26-year-old starting pitcher Kyle Currence to a win, beating the Mobile BayBears, 2-1, at Montgomery Riverwalk Stadium. In 6.1 innings, Currence surrendered 8 hits, while striking out 4 and walking 0. He allowed 1 run.
Mike Nunez, who is tied for 9th in the SL in RBI with 52, chipped in a run-scoring single for Montgomery in the bottom of the sixth. For the game, the designated hitter had 2 hits in 3 at-bats with 1 home run, 1 single, 1 run scored, and 2 runs batted in.
"Winning is always a team effort," Nunez said after the game.
Montgomery is now 36-70, Mobile 44-62.
