Biloxi pitcher Mike Ross did his part in helping his team defeat the Tennessee Smokies, 4-1. The opposition could never get too much going against the right-hander. Ryan Miller finished to wrap up his 8th save. The second-place Shuckers lifted their record to 62-45.

Francisco Castro had a big run-scoring double for the Shuckers in the bottom of the fourth inning. With Biloxi leading 1-0 and runners on 1st and 2nd, he got a changeup from Jérémy Dumont, who is tied for 5th in the SL in strikeouts with 139, and swatted a double to left. It was his 9th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Shuckers ahead, 2-0.
