Shuckers Fall to Smokies Late
The Tennessee Smokies beat the Biloxi Shuckers, 8-7, at MGM Park. Victor Damian, who is tied for 7th in the SL in runs scored with 49, starred for Tennessee. He went 3 for 5 with a home run and 2 singles, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 2. Tennessee reliever Ferrie Booij picked up the win, upping his record to 2-0. Matthew Gillespie absorbed the loss. By defeating Biloxi, the last-place Smokies improved to 38-73.

The Smokies got a big hit from second baseman Justin Wolfe. In the top of the ninth, Wolfe smacked a 2-run double off Biloxi pitcher Matthew Gillespie. It was his 9th double of the season. Suddenly, the Smokies were ahead, 8-7.

"I don't care about style points," Damian said. "I only care about winning."
