Montgomery got a strong outing from Adam Walker as the Biscuits defeated the Tennessee Smokies, 3-2, at Montgomery Riverwalk Stadium. Walker picked up the win for Montgomery, going 7 innings. He gave up 2 runs on 6 hits. He now sports a record of 3-0. The Biscuits improved their record to 67-44 by beating Tennessee.
The Smokies had been locked in a 2-2 tie with the Biscuits going into the bottom of the sixth inning. That changed quickly when the 21-year old center fielder Mike Grimm came to the plate. Grimm hit a solo home run on a 1-1 sinker from Tennessee hurler David Jones. It was Grimm's 2nd home run of the year.
"Adam gave us a really strong effort," said Montgomery manager George Woolbright.
