Tennessee beat Montgomery in a rain-soaked ballgame.

The Tennessee Smokies powered past the Montgomery Biscuits, 8-3, at Montgomery Riverwalk Stadium. Sergio Garcia was 2 for 3 with a triple, a double, and was hit by a pitch. He scored 2 runs and drove in 4, to lead the charge. The winning pitcher was James Baum. He tossed 129 pitches over 7.2 innings, allowing 3 runs on 10 hits.

In the top of the sixth, the Smokies grabbed the lead when Garcia hit his 4th triple of the season. The 2-run triple off Eric Keetch made it 4-2, Tennessee.

"We did a lot of really good things and it was a good win," said Smokies manager Steve Schwab.
