Flying Squirrels Paste 7-4 Loss on Mets
|
The Richmond Flying Squirrels downed the Binghamton Mets, 7-4, at NYSEG Stadium. The Flying Squirrels were led by Federico Duarte. He went 1 for 2 with a home run and a walk. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. Richmond reliever Kyle Norris picked up the win, upping his record to 1-0. Miguel Cazares absorbed the loss. Charlie Fleet earned the save for Richmond, his 2nd.
Richmond used the bat of Marcos Iniguez to get the win. The third baseman hammered a 3-run home run in the top of the first inning to put the Flying Squirrels ahead, 3-0. It was his lone hit in 4 at-bats, but it did its damage.
"I just tried to put the barrel on it," said Duarte.
The loss has the Mets at 6-5.
