A nice crowd turned out for a clash between the Tennessee Smokies and Montgomery Biscuits.

John Griffin made an impact in the 11-1 Tennessee win over Montgomery. Griffin, who leads the SL in bases on balls with 64, went 4 for 6 with a home run and 3 doubles. He scored 2 runs and drove in 4. With the win, the Smokies improved to 53-60.

With Tennessee leading 2-0 in the top of the second, Griffin hit a changeup from Kyle Currence for a 2-run double. It was his 26th double of the season and put the Smokies ahead, 4-0.

Montgomery manager George Woolbright said "nothing went right"in the blowout loss.
