Chattanooga pitcher Marcos Sanchez did his part in helping his team defeat the Tennessee Smokies, 1-0. The opposition could never get too much going against the right-hander. The Lookouts saw their win-loss record go to 62-57. At the same time, the Smokies fell to 54-64.
It could have been a different outcome for Chattanooga, had it not been for Joe Biddix, the 23-year old catcher . Biddix contributed a run-scoring sacrifice fly in the top of the ninth inning to put Chattanooga up, 1-0.
"Some games build character," said Chattanooga manager Nick Allison. "Like this one."
