Birmingham picked up a win at Regions Field, bumping off the Montgomery Biscuits, 8-1. Pitcher Tony Coronado was a major reason the Barons emerged victorious. Birmingham, at 80-39, holds down first place in the South Division.
Coronado earned the win to move to 11-9. In his complete game performance, he allowed 1 run, while limiting the Biscuits to 4 hits.
"Tony pitched the ball pretty freaking great," said Birmingham manager John Ware.
