Shuckers Use Late-Game Magic to Beat Lookouts, 5-3
Biloxi Shuckers starter Ben Penland pitched well against the Chattanooga Lookouts at AT&T Field, leading his team to a win, 5-3. Penland, now 7-11, was the winner. In 7 innings, he gave up 5 hits, while striking out 7, walking 3, and allowing 2 runs. Geoff Gross earned the save, his 19th.

Chris Renteria came through with a big-time hit for Biloxi. The pinch hitter smacked a grand slam home run in the top of the eighth inning to give his team the lead, 4-2. It was his only hit, but it was clutch.

In comments to the Biloxi Bulletin, Renteria admitted he's been told to improve his work habits. "But," he said, "I know when to take it to another gear."

The Shuckers now have a record of 56-66 with the win over Chattanooga.
