Suns Beat Shuckers, 2-1
|
The Jacksonville Suns got a stellar performance from pitcher Alex Archuleta, who handcuffed the Biloxi offense en route to a win, 2-1, at Baseball Grounds of Jacksonville. Archuleta, now 2-1, was the winner. In 7 innings, he gave up 4 hits, while striking out 6, walking 3, and allowing 1 run. Their 34-91 record puts the Suns last in the South Division.
Jordan Anderson made an early impact for Jacksonville when he stroked his 2nd home run of the season. The solo home run, which came with no one out in the bottom of the second, put the Suns on top, 2-0.
"You don't always need a lot of runs to win," said Anderson. "Sometimes you need just one or two."
