Shuckers Reel In 3-1 Win
|
The Biloxi Shuckers earned a close win over the Pensacola Blue Wahoos, thanks in part to Bill Griffith. The Biloxi right-hander played a key role in the 3-1 victory. The winner was Griffith. He threw 7.0 innings of 5-hit ball. The loser was Aaron Humphrey. Justin LaRose got the save, the 2nd for him this season.
Ricardo de la Torre, who is tied for 8th in the SL in triples with 6, helped out the Biloxi cause in the bottom of the sixth inning with a run-scoring walk. For the game, the right fielder drew 2 walks in 4 trips to the plate.
"You have to trust that what you're doing is going to produce results," said Griffith.
Biloxi occupies last place in the North Division at 53-74.
