The Biloxi Shuckers got a good effort from starter John Nelson in defeating the Jackson Generals at MGM Park. The final score was 4-2. In 7 innings, Nelson surrendered 5 hits, while striking out 7 and walking 4. He allowed 2 runs. Doug Loughlin earned the save for Biloxi, his 1st of the year.

Biloxi went in front, 3-2, on Matt Tolman's 3rd home run of the season. The solo home run, which Tolman hit in the bottom of the seventh, left Jackson pitcher Jimmy Cox visibly perturbed.
