Jackson got a strong outing from Melvin Robles as the Generals defeated the Biloxi Shuckers, 4-2, at MGM Park. Robles, now 3-0, was the winner. In 6 innings, he gave up 5 hits, while striking out 7, walking 3, and allowing no runs. Jeff Alley, who is tied for 10th in the SL in saves with 8, nailed down the save.

Jackson used a well-timed hit by Tyrese Graham to capture the win. The shortstop socked a bases-clearing double in the top of the fourth inning to put the Generals ahead, 3-0. Though it was his only hit in 4 at-bats, it was important.

"Melvin's focus was outstanding. The way he handled every moment -- when there was a little trouble, he didn't lose his tempo or his rhythm," said Jackson manager Matt Vining.

With the win, Jackson raised its record to 65-63.
