The home team was supported by a raucous crowd at Smokies Park.
The Tennessee Smokies got a good effort from starter Tyler Hintze in defeating the Biloxi Shuckers at Smokies Park. The final score was 4-2. At 62-70, Tennessee is in third place in the North Division.
The Smokies got a big at-bat from shortstop Alvaro Montejano. For the game, Montejano went 1-4 with a double. In the bottom of the second, with a runner on 1st, he stroked a run-scoring double. His 29th double of the season gave Tennessee a 1-0 lead.
"Tyler gets on the mound and he competes and that's what you want," said Tennessee manager Steve Schwab.
