The Birmingham Barons picked up a win at Regions Field, knocking off the Chattanooga Lookouts, 7-4. On the mound for Birmingham was right-hander Steven Floyd. He played a key role in the triumph. Birmingham is 4th in the South Division with a record of 65-73.

Chris Frye was 2-3 with 2 singles and a walk, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once for Birmingham. With one out and the game tied in the bottom of the seventh inning, Frye, who is tied for 6th in the SL with a .463 slugging percentage, had a clutch at-bat. Facing Chattanooga hurler Marco Ayala, he hit a sacrifice fly to give the Barons a 3-2 lead.
