Dodgers Drop 6-3 Decision
|
Arizona left fielder Nate Humphery was instrumental in helping the Diamondbacks triumph, 6-3, over the Los Angeles Dodgers. Humphery was 3 for 4 with a home run and a double, while scoring 2. The winner was Arturo Ventura in relief. His record improves to 2-0. Mike Carey took the loss. Arizona has a record of 4-1.
The Dodgers had been locked in a 2-2 tie with the Diamondbacks going into the bottom of the sixth inning. That changed quickly when the 23-year old shortstop Fernando Carreon came to the plate. Carreon hit a 2-run double on a full count fastball from Los Angeles hurler Jake Young. It was Carreon's 3rd double of the year.
In postgame comments to the Arizona Bulletin, Humphery said, "If the effort is there, the wins will come."
