Machado Leads Charge, Cincinnati Blasts Diamondbacks
|
The Cincinnati Reds coasted to a win over the Arizona Diamondbacks, 13-3. Gerardo Machado had a good day at the plate for Cincinnati. He went 3-5 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk, while scoring 3 times and driving in 4. Curtis Moore, the winner, is now 1-0. He struck out 9 and walked 2 over 7 innings, while allowing 1 run on 1 hit. The loss drops Arizona to 3-3.
Pat Warner helped his team jump on top from the get-go. His first time up in the top of the first, he cranked a 2-run single to give Cincinnati a 2-0 lead.
Said Arizona manager Terrell Bailey after the blowout loss: "They did pretty much every facet of the game better than we did and that's why we lost."
