Though he had a great game, Elza Gravito could not single-handedly produce a win for Houston. Cleveland won the game, 7-2. Gravito went 2 for 3 with 2 home runs. Kenny Guerrero picked up the win with 5 innings of work. He allowed 2 runs on 5 hits, while walking 1 and striking out 2. On the season, he is now 1-1. After losing, Houston is 2-5.
Tied up with the Astros in the top of the fifth inning, the Guardians got a boost from designated hitter Jordan Gutierrez. With the bases loaded, Gutierrez saw a 2-2 cutter from Luis Rodas and hit a 2-run single to break the stalemate and put Cleveland on top, 3-1.
Gutierrez called the win "a pick-me-upper."
