The Detroit Tigers beat the Toronto Blue Jays, 5-3. Detroit pitcher and Longview, Texas, native Steve McAloon led the way. With the loss, Toronto is 2-6.

Matt Milone had a big 2-run home run for the Tigers in the top of the third inning. With Detroit leading 2-0 and a runner on 2nd, he sized up a sinker from Billy Demeter, who finished 4th in the AL in wins with 14 in 2112, and punished it. The result was his 1st home run of the season, which put the Tigers on top, 4-0.

"It doesn't matter if you're 10 games over .500 or 10 games under, it feels good to win," Milone told the Detroit Citizen.
