Yankees Beat Guardians in 10
|
The New York Yankees beat the Cleveland Guardians, 5-3, in 10 innings at Progressive Field. Nick Rich, in particular, was impressive. He was 2-4 with 2 doubles and a walk, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. Cleveland falls to 4-4.
Willie Serrano came through with a big-time hit for New York. The left fielder smacked a 2-run home run in the top of the tenth inning to give his team the lead, 5-3. It was his only hit, but it was clutch.
"Sometimes winning takes more than 27 outs," said Yankees manager Mike Hanson.
