Rays Knock Off Hustle at Jon Nunez Sr. Stadium

Tampa Bay Rays starter Ron Stein was in a rhythm all game. He led his team to a win over the Las Vegas Hustle, 4-2. In 6.2 innings, Stein surrendered 4 hits, while striking out 5 and walking 1. He allowed 2 runs. Todd Curley sewed up the save, his 1st.
The Hustle had been locked in a 0-0 tie with the Rays going into the bottom of the fourth inning. That changed quickly when the 28-year old second baseman Dave Taylor came to the plate. Taylor hit a run-scoring double on a 0-2 fastball from Las Vegas hurler Justin Price. It was Taylor's 1st double of the year.
"The team always comes first, so pulling out the win on a day like today is the most important thing," Stein told a reporter while responding to autograph requests. "Our fans like to come out to see a win, so I'm happy to do what I can to give them that."
Las Vegas falls to 5-4.
