Stockton Gets 7-4 Win Against Blaze
|
Jason Sweeney did all he could to help his team win. In the end, though, it wasn't enough to keep the Bakersfield Blaze from losing, 7-4, to the Stockton Ports at Banner Island Ballpark. Sweeney went 3-5 with a home run and a double. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. Stockton reliever Matt Trosclair picked up the win, upping his record to 1-0. Chad Barcik was saddled with the loss. The save was credited to A.J. Wayne, his 1st.
Danny Alarcon aided the Stockton cause with a 2-run double in the bottom of the fifth. For the game, the catcher was 1 for 3 with a double, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once.
"I try to not think too much," said Alarcon.
The victory makes Stockton 2-0.
