Inland Empire Pockets 6-3 Win Over High Desert
The Inland Empire 66ers defeated the High Desert Mavericks, 6-3, in California League action at San Manuel Stadium. Inland Empire pitcher Tsuyoshi Higashi had a standout performance. The loss drops the Mavericks to 2-1.

Inland Empire shortstop Ruben Velez contributed a timely at-bat in the bottom of the fourth. With two down, he hit a sinker to center field for a 2-run single. It was his 3rd hit of the season and put the 66ers ahead, 4-2.

"We did a lot of things right," said Velez.
